Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commissioned 18 newly completed township roads delivered by the Bauchi State Government under Governor Bala Mohammed.

The projects cover 49.7 kilometres across Bauchi metropolis and represent an investment of about ₦13.7 billion in road infrastructure.

Jonathan commended Governor Bala Mohammed for investing in infrastructure that connects communities, improves movement and trade, expands access to essential services and supports economic growth.

Governor Bala Mohammed said the roads are part of his administration’s wider infrastructure development programme. He disclosed that the state has targeted about 5,000 kilometres of roads, with approximately 3,000 kilometres completed since he assumed office.

The newly commissioned roads feature drainage systems, road markings, traffic signs and speed-calming measures, while selected routes also have solar-powered streetlights to improve visibility and security.

The governor urged residents to protect the roads and drainage infrastructure from damage, describing them as valuable public assets.
