The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has stressed the importance of teaching boys how to cook, describing the skill as essential for career development, self-reliance, and responsible family living.
Speaking on the initiative, Sanwo-Olu said cooking equips boys with practical life skills that can open opportunities in the hospitality and culinary industries while also preparing them to contribute meaningfully at home.
She encouraged parents, schools, and communities to support the teaching of cooking and other vocational skills to boys, noting that such knowledge promotes independence, confidence, and better family values.
