According to a report published by ThisDay Live on Monday, October 19, 2026, Plang expressed this position during an interactive session with journalists in Jos, the Plateau State capital. He argued that opposition parties had taken too long to organise their coalition and might struggle to match the APC’s level of preparation ahead of the forthcoming polls.

The senator maintained that the ruling party had spent considerable time strengthening its political structures, expanding its network of supporters and building alliances across different regions of the country. He suggested that these efforts had placed the APC in a favourable organisational position as political activities surrounding the 2027 elections gathered momentum.
