According to a report by Daily post Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has criticised the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, accusing the former Anambra State governor of engaging in what he described as “Artificial Intelligence (AI) politics.” Umahi made the remarks while responding to recent criticisms by Obi regarding the Federal Government’s road infrastructure projects.
The minister maintained that the administration of President Bola Tinubu remained focused on executing road projects across the country despite the opposition’s comments, insisting that the government was committed to improving Nigeria’s transport infrastructure.
Umahi spoke during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, where he dismissed suggestions that the ruling administration was concerned about Obi’s political criticisms.
According to the minister, neither he nor President Tinubu was intimidated by the former Anambra governor.
He argued that Obi’s comments on national infrastructure did not accurately reflect his own record while serving as governor of Anambra State, maintaining that the former governor lacked the moral authority to criticise the current administration’s handling of road development.
The Minister of Works further assessed Obi’s tenure as governor, alleging that his administration failed to make significant investments in critical sectors.
Umahi claimed that there were shortcomings in road construction, healthcare infrastructure and airport development during Obi’s years in office.
He argued that if the standards Obi now advocates had been applied to his own administration in Anambra State, the former governor would have had little justification for remaining in office.
