Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has addressed concerns about FCT minister, Nyesom Wike’s position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
In an interview with ARISE TV, Mohammed explained that Wike’s ministerial role does not mean the PDP has become an extension of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stressed that President Tinubu is the leader of all Nigerians, not just of the APC, and ministers in his cabinet serve the nation rather than a political party.
Mohammed emphasized that Wike’s appointment is a national duty, not evidence of APC membership or influence over the PDP.
He said,
“The fact that Wike is working for the president and not the APC does not mean that the PDP is an appendage of the APC. There is a clear difference between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the APC as a political party.
He is the president of all Nigerians, the president of all political parties. So, because Wike works as a cabinet minister does not mean he is working as a member of the APC.”
