The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has concluded his ongoing engagement with staff of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) with an interactive session with Directorate-Level Officers on Grades 15–17, emphasising the importance of effective leadership, mentorship and institutional excellence in driving improved service delivery.
The statement by the Permanent Secretary, Common Service Office OHCSF Dr. Danjuma Usman Kalbathe notes that the session provided a collaborative platform to align strategic priorities, address operational challenges and advance key objectives of the Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It also enables management staff to identify challenges and propose practical solutions to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
The statement describes the Directorate cadre as a critical link between policy direction and effective implementation, charging them to provide purposeful leadership, mentor younger officers and promote a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration and excellence.
It further reiterates the need for continuous learning and self-development, urging the officers to remain open to new ideas and embrace innovative approaches to addressing administrative challenges. He also encouraged Directors to provide effective professional guidance to their subordinates and deliberately build the next generation of capable and confident public servants.
It adds that the session provided an opportunity for officers to gain deeper insight into the HCSF’s vision and expectations while sharing perspectives on operational challenges and areas requiring improvement.
The series provided a platform for officers across different cadres to interact directly with the HCSF, share operational perspectives, raise concerns and contribute ideas towards strengthening the effectiveness of the Office.
