Veteran journalist and publisher Dele Momodu has recounted how he nearly got detained by British authorities after arriving at a United Kingdom airport with 18 mobile phones in his bag.
Momodu disclosed the experience while reflecting on an encounter with UK immigration and airport officials, explaining that the large number of phones raised suspicion during the inspection.
According to him, he had the devices in his luggage for reasons he considered legitimate, but the situation became tense as officials questioned him about why he was carrying so many phones.
The media entrepreneur said the incident served as a reminder of the scrutiny travellers can face when entering foreign countries, particularly when carrying items that may appear unusual or excessive.
