Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives, says lawmakers are often too quick to introduce bills seeking to establish new government agencies.
Abbas spoke on Tuesday in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the 2026 national assembly open week and the unveiling of the third-year legislative scorecard.
The speaker said the house must prioritise strengthening existing institutions and reducing the cost of governance rather than creating more agencies.
