The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two Europe-bound Nigerian businessmen after they allegedly excreted a combined 200 wraps of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The suspects, identified as 34-year-old Chukwunonso Ugochukwu and 39-year-old Chukwuemeka Nwabuisi, were arrested during separate operations while attempting to board flights to Europe.
According to the agency, Ugochukwu, who was travelling to Rome, Italy, excreted 120 wraps weighing 1.7kg, while Nwabuisi, heading to Madrid, Spain, expelled 80 wraps weighing 1.3kg. Both men reportedly ingested the cocaine before their journeys.
NDLEA said the arrests followed intelligence-led surveillance and that investigations were ongoing to establish the full extent of the drug trafficking operations.
