The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress of allegedly orchestrating a disinformation campaign to discredit the APC presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna.

In a press statement issued on Saturday, October 24, 2026, and signed by Dele Alake, spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, the party alleged that artificial intelligence, deepfake videos, doctored documents and misleading social media posts were being deployed to undermine the rally.

The council cited reports concerning a security vehicle near an APC campaign billboard and a purported letter claiming that the Kaduna State Government released N2.3 trillion to host the rally, describing both as misleading and fabricated.

It argued that the alleged N2.3 trillion expenditure was inconsistent with Kaduna State’s annual budgets for 2024, 2025 and 2026, which it said collectively amounted to less than that figure.

The APC campaign council further alleged that old and manipulated videos could be circulated during the rally to create a false impression of public resentment.

It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and disregard unverified information, while accusing Atiku and the ADC of attempting to undermine the party’s campaign.

However, the allegations remain claims made by the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and the statement does not provide independent evidence establishing that Atiku Abubakar or the ADC orchestrated the alleged disinformation campaign.
