Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over the rising cost of living and worsening insecurity, saying Nigerian families are struggling to afford food, healthcare, transportation and rent. In a message to Nigerians, Atiku said pensioners face difficult choices between buying food and medicine, while many young workers struggle to meet basic needs.
Atiku also expressed concern over kidnappings and attacks across the country, arguing that no family should have to endure hunger and insecurity at the same time. He called for a Nigeria where citizens can live safely and afford basic necessities.
Urging eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), Atiku described the card as a means for Nigerians to exercise their democratic rights and demand change peacefully. He encouraged registered voters to hold on to their cards ahead of future elections.
Taking a swipe at Tinubu’s administration, Atiku declared that the President had made life more expensive and pledged to work towards making life affordable and restoring security. His message comes as political activities and preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general election.
