The House of Representatives has urged the Executive to submit the 2027–2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the National Assembly ahead of the presentation of the 2027 Appropriation Bill for consideration.
Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, made the request while outlining the legislative priorities of the 10th Assembly as it enters the final year of its tenure.
The statement listed the conclusion of the Constitution alteration process, as well as the consideration and passage of the expected Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, among the priorities.
The Speaker also read several executive communications on the floor of the House, including President Bola Tinubu’s request for approval of a promissory note programme to reimburse the Yobe State Government with One Hundred point Five Billion Naira for the takeover of the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu.
The President also transmitted two bills to the House for consideration: the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols Bill, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Enforcement Bill, 2026.
