APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda has received a delegation of former House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) into the ruling party. The group was received at the APC national secretariat, Buhari House, in Abuja, on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Yilwatda said the defectors were led by Princess Aslam Aliyu Zamfara and described their decision to join the APC as a commitment to working within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The reception was attended by the party’s National Secretary and other members of the National Working Committee.
The delegation pledged to mobilise two million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. Yilwatda welcomed the pledge and urged the new members to focus on grassroots mobilisation, voter education and engagement across their constituencies.
He also called on the defectors to embrace unity, discipline and teamwork while respecting the APC constitution and internal democratic processes. The development comes as political parties intensify efforts to build support ahead of the 2027 elections.
