According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday October 8, 2026, A senior Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, official, Theo Abu Agada, has claimed that Peter Obi turned down an offer from Atiku Abubakar to become his running mate ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Agada, the NDC’s Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, made the claim while responding to accusations that he was secretly working for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The controversy began after an X user, Henryshield, alleged that Agada had been leaking sensitive information about Obi’s presidential campaign to individuals allegedly backing the APC.
