The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has expressed deep sorrow over the Nigerian Air Force aircraft incident of October 5, which claimed the lives of 25 persons on board.
In a condolence message, the IGP sympathised with the Chief of the Air Staff, officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force, and the bereaved families, describing the fallen personnel as men and women who paid the ultimate price in service to the nation.
IGP Disu said their courage and sacrifice would not be forgotten, assuring the bereaved families that the Nigeria Police Force grieves with them and will provide every support within its power during the difficult period.
As a mark of honour, the IGP has directed that flags at Police formations be flown at half-mast in memory of the fallen Air Force personnel, as he prayed for the repose of their souls and strength for the bereaved families.
