Nigeria has secured an additional 10,000 slots for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, increasing the country’s allocation from 50,000 to 60,000.
A statement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, says the additional slots were approved by Saudi Arabia following sustained engagement between the two countries.
Of the new allocation, 7,500 slots will go to State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, agencies and commissions, while 2,500 will be allocated to seven lead tour operators.
NAHCON Chairman, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, thanked the Federal Government and Saudi authorities for their continued cooperation in supporting Nigerian pilgrims.
The Commission says the additional slots will be administered transparently and in line with Nigerian and Saudi regulations.
The Commission also reaffirm its commitment to accessible Hajj, quality service delivery and the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
