Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested four suspected Boko Haram terrorists after a night ambush in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, while 11 other terrorists surrendered between September 15 and 22, 2026.
The ambush was conducted by troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force, east of Azare Village around 11pm on September 21. Troops engaged the suspected terrorists in a firefight before arresting four during a subsequent search of the area.
The military recovered four bicycles, groceries, a sheep and expended 7.62mm Special ammunition cases. Blood traces found at the scene also indicated that some fleeing terrorists may have sustained casualties, according to the Joint Task Force.
In a separate operation in Buni Yadi, troops arrested nine suspected drug dealers and recovered suspected illicit drugs, cannabis, two mobile phones and ₦85,900. The suspects were handed over to the NDLEA, as OPHK continues operations aimed at disrupting terrorist and criminal networks across the North-East.
