Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu on Thursday, September 17, 2026, honoured retired Deputy Superintendent of Traffic (DST) Anifa Bello Abiodun with an IGP’s Award of Recognition and cash support for her outstanding service to the Nigeria Police Force.

The presentation was held at Force Headquarters, Abuja, where Disu praised Abiodun for her professionalism, discipline, resilience and dedication to traffic management during her years with the Ogun State Police Command, particularly in Abeokuta.

The retired officer was recognised for her consistent commitment to duty and service to members of the public, earning the appreciation of residents and road users in the communities where she worked. The IGP said such public recognition showed the respect she had earned through professional conduct.

Disu stressed that while police personnel must be held accountable for misconduct, officers who demonstrate integrity and exemplary service should also be recognised and rewarded. He said such recognition would reinforce professional standards and encourage other personnel to serve diligently and strengthen public confidence in the Police Force.
