Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could reclaim Osun State in the governorship election, arguing that only a “miracle or magic” could save the incumbent governor.
Sani made the assertion in a social media post while commenting on the political situation in Osun State ahead of the governorship election.
According to him, the division within the opposition and the political background of some members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could work in favour of the APC.
He wrote, “Osun; with a divided opposition and the fact that almost all of the ADC members in the state are genetically and spiritually from the APC, only a miracle or magic will save the incumbent Governor.”
Sani further predicted that Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who has been involved in the APC’s campaign activities in Osun, would play a key role in helping the ruling party reclaim the state.
“In the absence of both miracle and magic, Hope Uzodimma will undoubtedly retrieve Osun for APC,” he added.
His comment comes amid intensified political activities in Osun State as the major political parties make their final preparations for the governorship election.
The incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is seeking another term in office, while the APC and other opposition parties are campaigning to unseat him.
The APC has also intensified its mobilisation in the state, with several of its governors and national leaders participating in the party’s campaign activities ahead of the poll.
Sani’s prediction has added to the growing debate over the likely outcome of the election, with political parties and their supporters expressing confidence in victory as voters prepare to decide the next governor of Osun State.
