President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he is prepared to defend his position against political challengers, stressing that politics is a contest in which everyone has an equal opportunity to compete.
Speaking on the realities of political competition, the President said he sought the office and remains ready for any challenge that comes with it.
«”I asked for this job, I’m in it. Those who will take it from me will try. They will try. All is fair in politics, and it’s equal opportunity. I’m ready, but I won’t give them a red carpet. I won’t offer them the leash to tie me and rope me. No, we wrestle each other to the finishing point,” Tinubu said.»
The remarks have generated reactions across political circles, with supporters describing them as a show of confidence ahead of future political contests, while critics have offered differing interpretations of the President’s comments.
