Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to extend the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to at least 90 days before the 2027 General Elections to enable more eligible Nigerians to register and participate in the electoral process.
Obi made the appeal after visiting an INEC CVR Centre in Enugu on Friday, following his attendance at the graduation ceremony of the Millennium College of Nursing Sciences in Awka. He said he was impressed by the orderly registration process and commended INEC officials for their professionalism and dedication.
According to Obi, extending the voter registration period would strengthen Nigeria’s democracy by giving more citizens the opportunity to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and exercise their constitutional right to vote.
