The Senate has rejected a motion seeking an investigation into the controversial ₦1.3 billion 2026 budget allocation to the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The motion, presented during Wednesday’s plenary, called for a comprehensive probe into the agency’s legal status, budgetary allocation, and operations amid allegations surrounding its legitimacy.
However, lawmakers declined to approve the proposed investigation, effectively halting the motion.
The PFIPC controversy has continued to attract public attention, with growing calls from various stakeholders for greater transparency and accountability over the allocation of public funds.
