Shettima Orders Permanent Security Reinforcement at NIPSS After Attack

Vice President Kashim Shettima has ordered the immediate and permanent reinforcement of security at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, following a recent attack on the institution.

The Vice President made the directive on Friday, June 19, 2026, during a condolence visit to the institute on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Shettima conveyed the Federal Government’s sympathies to the families of two soldiers and one police officer who lost their lives in the incident, describing the attack as deeply unfortunate.

Addressing participants of Senior Executive Course 48, he assured that the government remains committed to protecting national institutions and strengthening security across the country.

He also directed immediate additional security measures at the institution, stressing that the incident has reinforced the administration’s resolve to prevent future attacks and improve national preparedness.
