A resident of Pebblerock Apartments at 3, Igbile Close, Oniru, Lagos, Ms Oyinkansola Talabi, has alleged an attempt to forcibly evict her from the property in defiance of a High Court order.
She appealed to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to urgently intervene in the matter.
In an open letter dated February 6, 2026, addressed to the governor through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, Talabi accused Green Birch Tech Limited and Isaiah Davies Ijele of orchestrating what she described as a violent home invasion.
Talabi, who said she had resided in the apartment since November 2023, alleged that armed police officers and individuals claiming to be court bailiffs stormed her apartment at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 6, while she was away. According to her, they attempted to force entry by damaging the door handle.
“My home was besieged by armed police officers and individuals claiming to be court bailiffs,” she said, adding that an unwell friend was inside the apartment during the incident, causing fear and distress.
Talabi said the intervention of neighbours prevented further damage.
She alleged that the action violated a Lagos State High Court order in Suit No. LD/10108GCM/2025, dated December 3, 2025, issued by Justice L.A. Okunnu.
According to her, the order restrained Green Birch Tech Limited and its agents from collecting, demanding or interfering with rents, directing that all payments be made to a court-appointed receiver, Paul Osaji & Co.
Talabi said her rent cycle began in November 2025 and that she had already paid 70 per cent of the yearly rent. She alleged that despite the court order and the partial payment, the company resorted to self-help measures to demand funds it was legally barred from receiving.
She also accused the sub-lessor of neglecting basic amenities at the apartment complex, including a non-functional elevator, and failing to remit rents to the property’s owner for nearly four years.
Talabi further claimed that residents had experienced repeated electricity disconnections because funds meant for Eko Disco were not remitted through a third-party company.
“The Lagos State Government collects land charges from us and we pay for waste disposal, so the government cannot dictate to me. I offered her an alternative after she sent letters because I thought she was a good person.”
