The All Progressives Congress (APC) FCT Geo-political Zones Forum has asked Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, Member, House of Representatives representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to dump the Labour Party and join the APC.

Officials of the APC FCT Geo-political Zones Forum made the appeal at a press conference in Abuja, on Thursday.

Secretary of the Forum, Comrade Abdulwahab Ekekhide, told journalists that the appeal has become necessary to strengthen the chances of the party in forthcoming FCT Area Councils election, as well as the 2027 general elections.

He told the lawmaker that, as the umbrella body of all APC members residing in FCT, but hailing from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, they recognise and acknowledge his remarkable legislative performance in the green chamber over the last two and a half years.

He said: “Your dedication to quality presentation of bills that will reshape the development of FCT communities, empowerment of your constituents and provision of various projects in the communities has been exemplary.
Hon. Obika, you are a prominent political figure in FCT and APC is your home. We recall that you were once a member of our great party before joining the opposition Labour Party. We believe it is time for you to return home and contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We are calling on you to return home to join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and also to be in good company of our leader, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Governor who is currently mobilising Nigerians for this cause, and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives who has always been there for you and all of us.”

He urged the FCT Lawmaker to retrace his steps and defect to APC, where he will join hands with the leaders and contribute to the development of his constituency and the country at large.

“The leaders of the six geo-political zones are calling you to come back home, rejoin your people, and continue your progressive delivery of good governance to the people of AMAC/Bwari federal constituency. The door to APC is open, and we are ready to welcome you back with open arms.

Former Vice Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Lawrence Onuchukwu who is the Leader of the group, appealed to the FCT House of Representatives Member to consider the suggestion, and join the effort to strengthen the APC in FCT.
