Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the National Vice Chairman (Northeast) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has fulfilled his promise to empower young people across Adamawa State with financial support aimed at strengthening grassroots development.
Two weeks ago, Salihu pledged to launch the initiative in September, beginning with five beneficiaries who would each receive ₦1 million. True to his word, the first phase of disbursement has now been completed. The scheme will expand in October to cover ten beneficiaries, with further increases planned in the coming months.
apart from the initial ₦1 million per youth, another set of young people have also received N500,000 each
The youth empowerment program is designed for hardworking and dedicated young people across Adamawa, giving them both recognition and resources to translate their efforts into tangible impact.
Speaking during the unveiling of the scheme, Comrade Salihu emphasized that the initiative represents more than financial aid.
“This initiative is not just about financial support; it is about investing in the future, building loyalty, and giving our young people the tools they need to succeed. The APC believes in rewarding commitment and nurturing the next generation of leaders,” he said.
The program has drawn wide commendation from community leaders, party stakeholders, and youth organizations, who described it as a historic and visionary step. They highlighted its potential to inspire hope, strengthen unity, consolidate APC structures at the grassroots, reduce unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster social stability across Adamawa State and the Northeast.
Observers say the initiative reflects Comrade Salihu’s consistent commitment to youth development, social impact, and party growth. Many believe the empowerment scheme could serve as a model for other geopolitical zones, offering a new approach to how political leadership engages with young people in Nigeria.
