Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Mariya Mahmoud has hailed the vibrant energy, fresh ideas and mobilisation drive of All Progressives Congress (APC) youths as the “backbone” sustaining the ruling party.
Mahmoud made the remarks on Tuesday at a “Meet and Greet” event for the Asiwaju/Shettima campaign, hosted by APC youth leaders from the North West Zone in Abuja.
She praised the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and APC youth leadership for the gathering, describing it as a key platform to bolster party unity, engagement and resolve.
“Your energy, ideas, and mobilisation efforts continue to serve as the backbone of our party’s success and the sustenance of our democratic ideals,” Mahmoud told the crowd, while thanking youths for their loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The minister spotlighted the North West Zone’s crucial role in Nigeria’s political landscape and APC victories, urging leaders to prioritise issue-based campaigns, peaceful rallies and dialogue.
She congratulated organisers and attendees, predicting the event would solidify APC bonds and rally youth support for Tinubu and Shettima.
In his address, Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, the 2023 Youth Mobilisation Director for the North West, said the meet-up honoured APC youth leaders whose efforts fuelled the party’s 2023 election win and advanced Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Goronyo called on them to keep energising peers nationwide and to contribute ideas that would help deliver campaign promises to the zone and beyond.
