Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has today September 18, honored an invitation extended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The decision, according to a statement from his media office, was made after consultations with his family, legal team, and political allies.

“The former Governor, known for his respect for the rule of law, has been actively pursuing the enforcement of his fundamental rights throughout the case to ensure due process is followed. His legal representatives have been present at every court hearing regarding the matter, which is currently being adjudicated in a competent court of law” the statement said

“In attending the EFCC invitation, Bello aims to clear his name, expressing confidence that he has “nothing to hide and nothing to fear.” He reiterated his commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to foster sustainable economic development in Nigeria, including the fight against corruption.

The former Governor was accompanied to the EFCC headquarters by prominent Nigerian figures. His media office expressed hope that the Commission would act professionally and respect his fundamental rights as a Nigerian citizen.
