A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s protection is the reason FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, remains a relevant political force.
He said the former Rivers governor would be a “nobody” without that presidential backing.
According to him, Wike is always eager to “proclaim his desperate love to Tinubu” because his political survival depends on the president.
Momodu stated this in an X post on Monday during an interaction with some followers.
A follower had asked why Wike had been allowed to “suffocate” Momodu’s political ally and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Responding, Momodu said, “WIKE is a nobody without TINUBU’s protection. Don’t you see how he is struggling to proclaim his desperate love to TINUBU at every opportunity because his survival depends absolutely on the President.”
The Ovation publisher also debunked a claim that he is against former Anambra governor and 2027 ADC presidential hopeful, Peter Obi.
“I can never be anti-Obi. The first time I supported Obi when Atiku picked him as running mate. I’m not aware they are enemies. They always treat each other with mutual respect in private and public,” he stated.
