President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, met with the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, in Lagos. The closed-door meeting comes weeks after the president declared a six-month emergency rule in Rivers State following heightened political tensions and Fubara’s subsequent suspension from office.
Although the details of the meeting were not made public, sources within the presidency said discussions centred on peace efforts and the restoration of political stability in the oil-rich state.
Fubara’s suspension followed months of intense political rivalry and a breakdown of relations between key stakeholders in the state government.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu also held a separate meeting with Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, at his Lagos residence.
