President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a closed-door session with Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq at the State House, Abuja, in the wake of the brutal assault on Woro village in Kaiama Local Government Area.
The high-stakes discussion followed Monday’s massacre, where over 160 residents lost their lives in an attack blamed on suspected jihadist militants. State House insiders said the parley forms part of broader security consultations on Kwara, with a focus on swift federal action to address the tragedy. Tinubu had on Wednesday mobilised an army battalion to Kaiama and approved a new military outpost to drive Operation Savannah Shield, targeting the assailants and safeguarding at-risk settlements.
The president denounced the killings as a barbaric act against villagers who spurned radical ideology in favour of moderate Islamic observance.
He further mandated tighter federal–state synergy for victim support and the relentless pursuit of justice against the culprits.
Separately, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, and governors Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Nasir Idris (Kebbi) and Bassey Otu (Cross River) also had an audience with him, details of which were not available as of press time.
