President Bola Tinubu has showered praises on the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, describing her as a dedicated public servant of impeccable character and intellect ahead of her birthday on January 15.
In a State House press release issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu highlighted Mahmoud’s role in driving landmark transformations across the FCT over the past two years. He commended her seamless collaboration with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, crediting her with strengthening institutions and uplifting vulnerable communities.
“Dr Mariya’s career in public service as a seasoned medical consultant on community health and as a former Commissioner for Higher Education in Kano State stands as a testament to her visionary leadership,” the President remarked.Tinubu further noted her passion for women’s empowerment, adding: “Her contributions in strengthening institutions, advancing educational standards, and championing policies that uplift communities, particularly the most vulnerable, are noteworthy. As a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, she has consistently leveraged her position to open doors, inspire confidence, and create opportunities for countless women and young girls to thrive.”
The President prayed for renewed strength, wisdom and good health for Mahmoud in the coming years, as she continues to serve the nation.
