SDP is an APC faction – Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has said the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is a faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He backed his claim by asking why members of other parties are not joining the SDP the way it is seen with the APC.

Galadima made this known during an appearance in Arise TV on Monday.

He said, “The APC, as we put it together, was a conglomeration of people of different characters, different backgrounds and different… I mean, people looking at the world from different perspectives. This is why they are in this area.

“The SDP that you talked about in your introduction, is a branch of the APC that that has created a function. And it was those APC people that moved to what is now called SDP, nothing more. How many people from other parties have moved to the SDP? That is the question you should ask, so it is not out of place.”

Further speaking, Galadima stated that the politics at play is similar to the type played in Lagos where opposition is decimated.

“You are in Lagos. This is the character of Lagos to decimate opposition. You have just seen what Jandor has done. Look at the support the people of Lagos have given Jandor. In fact, I will say that he won the election. It was taken away from him. But today, look at it. He just backpedaled and went back to the APC.”

Galadima urged politicians to engage 8n opposition of principles, regardless of whether they have support or not.

On why the NNPP didn’t form coalition with other parties in 2023, Galadima said, “We are a party of ideology. We are a party of principles. We just don’t go into coalition for the sake of coalition, because we wanted power at all cost.”
