PDP national youth leader failing young Nigerians – Mukhtar

A former Kano House of Assembly aspirant in the 2023 general elections, Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada, has accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Leader, Muhammad Kadade, of failing to effectively represent and mobilize the party’s youth wing.

Mukhtar, who issued a statement to journalists on Wednesday, criticized Kadade’s perceived lack of commitment to his role.

He alleged that the youth leader has not prioritized the interests of young Nigerians within the party.

But the youth leader dismissed the claim in a chat with DAILY POST, saying a leader is always subjected to public criticism despite his effort.

Mukhtar said, “The Youth Leader is a crucial member of the party’s National Working Committee because he represents all young members of the party. But have you ever seen him holding meetings with youth groups other than posing for pictures with VIPs?” Mukhtar queried.

He expressed disappointment over Kadade’s alleged failure to organize a mobilization tour for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 general elections, despite calls from various party youth leaders.

“Even though I have access to him, the Youth Leader has failed to listen to almost everybody who tries to call him to order,” Mukhtar lamented.

“Look at what is happening in the country; the SDP issues, the hardships, everything. yet he has chosen to remain silent because of Nyesom Wike, who is an enemy of the party, working tirelessly for President Tinubu to destroy the opposition.”

Mukhtar further alleged that Kadade’s loyalty lies more with Wike than with the PDP itself, claiming that this misplaced allegiance has weakened the party’s youth wing.

“We heard it from a reliable source that he is not loyal to the party but to an individual, Nyesom Wike, who is doing everything possible to destroy our great party,” he said.

“I’m calling on the young man, it’s not too late. He should start doing the right thing, as the youth wing of the party is very weak, courtesy of his lackadaisical attitude toward young people.”

The former aspirant, who is also a university lecturer and public relations practitioner, urged young Nigerians to unite and support efforts aimed at addressing the nation’s challenges, regardless of party affiliations.

“Our youth must come together out of patriotism and support any cause that can salvage this country,” Mukhtar concluded.

Responding to these criticisms, the PDP National Youth Leader, Muhammad Kadade Suleiman, defended his performance, stating that those who are not in leadership positions often underestimate the challenges involved.

“Those who are not in positions do not know how it is. They think that if they were the ones, they would perfectly do better,” Kadade said.

He further highlighted his efforts during the 2023 election period.

“In 2023, I did a lot of activities, and there’s no way if I’m not doing well that the leaders would allow me to continue, because there is accountability.”

Kadade acknowledged that leaders are often subject to criticism, regardless of their efforts.

“A leader is always at fault, and people will always talk. If Adnan thinks leadership is easy, he would have clinched the position as an aspirant of the Kano Assembly in the 2023 general elections,” he said.
