The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, on Wednesday, stormed the national headquarters of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Branch of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Employers (NUPENG-PTD) to seek proactive action toward tackling the recent spate of tanker crashes in Nigeria.
The visit was a prelude to the forthcoming critical stakeholders’ meeting organized at the expense of the Corps Marshal to discuss possible ways of addressing the challenges confronting the safety of lives and property in the road transportation sector of the country.
While appreciating the support the Corps has received over the years from the Union, the Corps Marshal emphasized the greater need for more collaboration and partnership, especially in the areas of training and retraining of Petroleum Tanker Drivers and complying with minimum safety standards in haulage operations.
