The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) National Campaign Council, Governor Umaru Fintiri, has said that the judgment of the Federal High Court voiding the nomination of Asue Ighodalo as the party’s candidate in the Edo governorship poll is a temporary setback.
Fintiri, who is also the Governor of Adamawa State, stated this on Saturday at a meeting of the campaign council at the PDP National Secretariat, in Abuja, adding that there is no stopping the opposition party in the Edo governorship contest.
The Adamawa governor, while urging PDP stakeholders to brace up for the Edo governorship election, expressed confidence that the Federal High Court judgement will not stand.
He said “Yes, there is a little setback. Temporarily. God will see us through it. I am referring to the three days ago court judgment. Anybody, who peruse and look through the entire process will know that it is a child’s play.
“This is what will not stand in the court of law. Particularly that we will be approaching the Court of Appeal. And that shouldn’t deter us.
“We will put more commitment. More work than we have not intended to do earlier. So that we will put our detractors into shame.”
