Aliko Dangote Foundation has donated 400 bags of 10 kilogramme rice to over 20 churches and Muslim communities in Ohafia local government area of Abia State.

During the event at the council headquarters, Ebem Ohafia, the wife of the state governor, Mrs Pricillia Otti, expressed profound appreciation and lauded the foundation for the donation.

Represented by the wife of the mayor of the council, Deaconess Grace Ojuu, she described it as a welcome and timely palliative, urging similar organisations to emulate the kind gesture.

She said, “This gesture, which aligns with the government’s agenda for the people, is aimed at cushioning the effects of the prevailing economic hardship in the country on the vulnerable in the area.”

The first lady commended the governor, Alex Otti for the ongoing positive transformation across the state and the cordial relationship between him and the mayor, Chief Eleanya Kalu Ujuu.

She used the opportunity to sensitise the people on the need for them to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card in preparation for the 2027 general election.

According to her, their support and clamour for the return of the governor to power in the election would not be achieved unless they have and used their cards to effect the return.

‎Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Evangelist Johnson Ndukwe and Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu thanked the foundation for the donation, assuring that it would be shared equitable.

‎They also announced their support for the government, efforts at sensitising the people on the need for the card, and their determination to live in love, peace and harmony with one another.
