COAS promises enhanced nationwide security after briefing Tinubu

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has assured Nigerians that security across the country will improve following his briefing of President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Addressing State House correspondents after the private session, Lt. Gen. Shaibu expressed optimism about ongoing security efforts, especially after his recent operational tour of the North-East. “Improved security across the country,” he declared when asked what citizens should expect in the near future.

He detailed that his briefing covered the results of his visit to the North-East theatre of operations as well as a review of the national security situation. The Army Chief described the overall state as “satisfactory,” citing better coordination among security agencies and sustained pressure on criminal groups.
“I came to brief him on the outcome of my visit to the North-East region and then look at other security situations across the country, which was satisfactory within this period,” he explained.

While he did not reveal specific operational plans, his assurances follow intensified joint military operations targeting terrorists, bandits, and other violent offenders in multiple states.

This announcement coincides with recent Nigerian Air Force successes over the weekend, which involved routing terrorists in Borno, Katsina, and Kwara states and neutralising hundreds of insurgents in their camps.
