The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has received former African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Assembly candidates from Zamfara, Plateau, Taraba and Jigawa states into the APC.
The defectors, led by Princess Aslam Aliyu from Zamfara State, announced their decision at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, declaring their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Mohammed Hassan of Zamfara said their decision was not merely about changing political platforms but about beginning a new phase of service and contributing to national development while supporting Tinubu’s agenda.
Yilwatda welcomed the new members and commended them for withdrawing from their previous political ambitions in favour of what he described as the broader national interest. He urged them to return to their respective wards and communities to begin grassroots mobilisation and contribute to strengthening the party.
The APC chairman also assured the defectors that their contributions would be recognised, while encouraging them to work at the grassroots as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
