Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title “Oso Di Eme I” during her visit to Imo State on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The title recognises her role and contributions as a woman who supports and works alongside her husband.
The conferment formed part of Mrs Tinubu’s engagements in the state, where she met with women and members of the Catholic Mothers Association.
Addressing the women, the First Lady urged them to continue praying for President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria, while assuring them that the Federal Government remained committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
“Make una pray for Mr President abeg, but we go work for una,” she said, stressing that prayers must be accompanied by action as the administration works to fulfil its promises.
The “Oso Di Eme” title is an Igbo expression commonly associated with a woman who supports and works with her husband. The Imo honour adds to the traditional titles Mrs Tinubu has received in different parts of the country.
