Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has continued his engagements across Kogi, Benue and Enugu states, meeting party supporters, community leaders, traders and other stakeholders.
Obi first visited Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, where he met with stakeholders and party faithful alongside the party’s Kogi East senatorial candidate, High Chief Peter Ameh.
He said insecurity, healthcare, education, employment and poverty alleviation remain major concerns for Nigerians and would remain central to his political efforts.
Obi urged his supporters to remain committed to the democratic process, turn out to vote and protect their votes from polling units until the final declaration of results.
He also made brief stops in Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, and Obollo Afor in Enugu State, where he interacted with residents and traders.
According to Obi, people across the communities expressed similar concerns, including insecurity, unemployment, poorly functioning hospitals and schools, and the rising difficulty of earning a decent living.
He said Nigerians deserve a government that prioritises citizens’ welfare and creates an environment where businesses can grow.
In Okpo, Olamaboro LGA, Obi attended the 65th birthday celebration of Evangelist Sunday Oguche, whom he described as a preacher and community builder committed to improving lives.
He later paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Willy Ezugwu, Eze Ka Eze I of Ideke Land and Eze Ogbozalla III of Opi Kingdom in Nsukka, Enugu State, where the traditional ruler offered prayers and royal blessings.
Obi said his message remains that Nigeria can succeed and that government can be made to genuinely serve its people.
