Since the return to democracy in 1999, the citizens of Adamawa State have actively participated in both state and national elections. In the 2015 presidential election, they overwhelmingly voted for the then-opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, the late Muhammadu Buhari. However, they have generally supported candidates from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Their primary motivation has always been to secure benefits from the federal government, and this strategy has proven effective.
As the 2027 election approaches, the electorate of Adamawa State will face another electoral cycle. They must decide whether to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration or to opt for an entirely new regime. Historically, the people of Adamawa—except for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan—have tended to support the incumbent president to consolidate developmental progress.
However, since politics is defined by tangible development, an objective assessment of the federal landscape reveals that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has delivered unprecedented democratic dividends to the nation, particularly to Adamawa State, in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda—all within just a few years.
Since assuming office in 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has allocated substantial federal funding for infrastructure and made appointments to various ministries and agencies in alignment with his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Several major infrastructure and development projects have been approved and funded, including the following:
The Jimeta-Mayo Belwa road project has been re-awarded and funded with an allocation of ₦83 billion.
Yola-Hong-Mubi Road, funded with ₦58 billion, aims to connect key trade hubs in the northern region.
The Yola-Fufore-Gurin Road (Phase 2) has received an additional approval of ₦15.2 billion to extend the road by 20 kilometers toward the Cameroon border.
Toungo-Karamti road project, valued at approximately ₦62.9 billion, includes the construction of five major bridges, establishing a vital trade link between Adamawa and Taraba states.
Jabbi Lamba-Malabu road, which spans approximately 85 kilometers, is about 40% complete.
Recently, the President, through the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, approved the establishment of the 226th Battalion in Ganye to address the insurgents and bandits disrupting the area. Soldiers have already been deployed, and the construction of barracks is progressing rapidly to accommodate them, which will undoubtedly boost economic activity in the region.
Tinubu’s administration has active plans and concrete steps to establish a new federal airstrip in Adamawa State. The federal government, through the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has partnered with the Adamawa State government on this initiative. In February 2026, joint aviation officials—including teams from FAAN, NAMA, and NIMET—conducted an on-site technical assessment of the proposed site along the Mararaba Mubi axis, bordering the Kwarhi and Hildi districts of Hong Local Government Area. The primary purpose of the airstrip is to significantly reduce emergency response times, enhance cross-border security operations near Cameroon, and stimulate rapid trade and agricultural transport throughout Adamawa State.

It is important to note that the president has good intentions for the people of Adamawa State, as demonstrated by the infrastructure projects he initiated during his first three-year term. Imagine what he could accomplish if elected for a second term.
Therefore, voting for him in 2027 is not merely a political choice but a strategic investment in sustained infrastructure development, economic prosperity, and security. In my view, the future of Adamawa aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda because we will need all the funded projects to be completed and potentially expanded.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and NSA Malam Nuhu Ribadu are leading the APC in Adamawa State to ensure President Bola Tinubu achieves a landslide victory. Governor Fintiri has launched a political platform called the Adamawa Renewed Hope Agenda 226 Movement (ARH226M). This grassroots movement was established to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and to secure victory for the APC in Adamawa State and nationally in the 2027 general elections.
The movement aims to unify various support groups, eliminate competition, and build a strong campaign team to confront the opposition directly. The campaign is designed to reach all 226 political wards across the 21 local government areas.
To achieve this, Governor Fintiri has appointed his confidant, Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur—an academic and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG)—as Director-General. Professor Tukur will work closely with the party to ensure Tinubu wins the state.
With Governor Fintiri, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, the party executives in the state, and the support of prominent stakeholders who already align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, President Tinubu has a strong chance of winning Adamawa State in 2027.
