The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director/CEO of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed Ali, on their second three-year tenure renewal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The renewal, announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, will see both media chiefs commence their second terms on October 20, 2026, having been first appointed on October 20, 2023.
Dabiri-Erewa described the renewal as a well-deserved vote of confidence in the two media leaders, whose contributions have played a significant role in projecting Nigeria’s image at home and abroad, including among millions of Nigerians in the diaspora.
She said their continued leadership would help sustain credible, professional and far-reaching coverage of national issues, including matters concerning the diaspora.
The NiDCOM Chairman also commended their wealth of professional experience and commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s state-owned media institutions, particularly amid ongoing efforts to modernise operations and expand digital reach.
Dabiri-Erewa wished both media chiefs continued success as they commence their new terms and reaffirmed her confidence in their capacity to further contribute to the development of Nigeria’s media sector and national growth.
