Former Cross River State Governor and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) presidential candidate, Donald Duke, has criticised the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly its handling of fuel subsidy.
Duke argued that the current arrangement has replaced the previous subsidy system with what he described as a poorly managed policy that benefits government while worsening economic hardship for Nigerians.
He said the country needs to move beyond political arguments and adopt carefully designed economic measures capable of promoting growth while reducing poverty.
Duke also said the PRP would prioritise Nigerians’ livelihoods and pursue policies aimed at strengthening the country’s economic resources if elected.
