According to a video shared online by Advocacy for Good Governance, on Thursday August 20, 2026, Former Anambra State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the NDC, Peter Obi, has detailed his demanding travel itinerary across Nigeria, emphasizing his hands-on approach and deep engagement with various regions of the country.
Speaking on his movement across the nation, Obi shared a breakdown of his recent multi-state journey, which involved back-to-back flights and several hours of road travel connecting political, commercial, and regional hubs.
“Well, most of the time I drive around like you see me now in a car. I’ve gone from Abuja.
I flew to a place called Ibadan and I’m now driving by the road from Ibadan going to Lagos and tomorrow I’m flying to another part of… so from Abuja which is the capital of the country to Ibadan is about 1 hour flight. Okay. And I am now driving by road 3 hours to Lagos.”
Highlighting the rigorous nature of his nationwide schedule, Obi noted that his engagements extend rapidly across different geopolitical zones within short timeframes.
“Tomorrow I’m going to do another 1 hour flight to Enugu. Drive, do another 3 hour flight drive. So I move around the entire country.”
Confident in his extensive footprint across Nigeria’s states and communities, the former governor asserted that his level of direct contact with the country’s landscape sets him apart from other political leaders.
“I can tell you that I, no politician in Nigeria travels around the country as I travel.”
