Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and several youth groups staged a protest in parts of Lagos on Friday, voicing concern over worsening insecurity and rising economic hardship across the country.

The demonstrators gathered in key areas of the city carrying placards and chanting slogans demanding urgent government action to address inflation, unemployment, and security challenges affecting daily life.

Organisers of the protest said the rally was aimed at drawing attention to what they described as “deteriorating living conditions” and called for immediate policy interventions to ease the burden on citizens.

Security personnel were reportedly present to monitor the situation and ensure the protest remained peaceful, while traffic disruptions were recorded in some parts of the metropolis.

The groups also urged the federal and state governments to strengthen security operations and implement economic reforms that would provide relief for struggling households.
