President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the high-level Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12, 2026.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, is themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.” Discussions are expected to focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and reforms in the global financing architecture.
President Tinubu’s aircraft reportedly landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi at about 12:15 a.m. local time, where he was received by senior Nigerian government officials and diplomats.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu’s participation at the summit is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s strategic partnerships with African nations and France while promoting ongoing economic reforms designed to position Nigeria as a major investment destination.
The Nigerian leader is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders on the sidelines of the summit to discuss investment opportunities, regional integration, and economic cooperation.
Following the Kenya engagement, President Tinubu will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the annual Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers focused on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation and regional integration.
