Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have intensified offensive operations under Operation Desert Sanity V, recording major successes against terrorist elements in the Timbuktu and Bulabulin forest areas of the North-East.
According to military authorities, coordinated ground and air operations led to the destruction of multiple terrorist enclaves across key locations, including areas around the Bulabulin Forest and the Timbuktu axis.
In the Bulabulin axis, troops—working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force and supported by air assets—engaged insurgents in a tactical operation that resulted in the neutralisation of at least 11 terrorists, while others fled with injuries. Several weapons and logistics materials were also recovered, including rifles, machine guns, motorcycles, and items linked to improvised explosive devices.
Similarly, in the Timbuktu axis along the Wajiroko corridor, troops carried out further engagements, neutralising additional terrorist and recovering arms such as AK-47 rifles, RPG tubes, ammunition, and communication equipment.
The Nigerian Air Force played a key role in the operation, providing intelligence, surveillance, and precision airstrikes that supported ground troops and ensured the success of the coordinated assault.
Military officials say follow-up operations are ongoing across surrounding areas to track fleeing insurgents, consolidate gains, and prevent regrouping.
The latest operation underscores continued efforts by Nigerian forces to degrade terrorist capabilities and restore stability across the North-East region.
