The ongoing e-registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has taken a politically significant turn following the entry of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri into the party. What began as a routine membership e-registration update has quickly transformed into a defining moment that underscores both Fintiri’s political strength and the expanding reach of the APC in the state.
Before the official entry of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri into the APC, the party had recorded 450,405 registered members across Adamawa State. This figure represented the existing structure and base of the party prior to the governor’s move. However, once the APC opened its membership registration portal to accommodate Governor Fintiri and his supporters, the political landscape shifted dramatically.
Within a remarkably short period, the party recorded an additional 453,651 members. This represents more than a 100 percent increase in membership; an unprecedented surge that effectively doubled the party’s strength in the state. Such rapid growth naturally raised questions about the driving force behind the numbers.
The answer, however, is straightforward. It was not magic, it was structure, loyalty, and organic political capital. Governor Fintiri came into the APC with a solid and consistent support base, built over years of grassroots engagement and electoral victories. His followers are not merely political sympathizers; they are organized, committed, and deeply loyal to his leadership.
With the new figures, Adamawa APC membership now stands at 904,056 plus, up from the initial 450,405. This places Adamawa as number two in the country, behind Lagos with approximately 1.1 million members, and number one in the entire northern region. This achievement is not only historic but also strategically significant for the APC’s national calculations.
As the e-registration exercise continues in Adamawa , projections suggest that Adamawa could soon emerge as the state with the highest number of registered APC members nationwide. Such an outcome would further cement the state’s importance in national party politics and reinforce the growing influence of its new political dynamics.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has therefore validated his earlier position that he would join the APC with a strong, organic, and loyal support base. The numbers now speak clearly. His statewide structure remains intact, his political machinery is effective, and his consistent record of winning elections reflects real grassroots acceptance.
Fintiri’s entry into the APC is increasingly seen as a strategic blessing for the party. It brings expanded membership, a tested winning team, and the opportunity for harmonization among diverse political stakeholders across Adamawa State. More importantly, it strengthens the party’s chances in future elections and positions Adamawa as a major pillar in the APC’s national architecture.
In political terms, the message is unmistakable: Fintiri did not just join the APC ; he brought momentum, numbers, and a formidable political structure with him. The e-registration surge is the first clear evidence of that reality.
