The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its State, Local Government, and Ward Congresses in Adamawa State, in a move apparently connected to the anticipated defection of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party.
In a letter dated Tuesday, February 17, 2024, and addressed to the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC informed the electoral body of the postponement, assuring that a new date would be communicated “in due course.”
The letter, jointly signed by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC National Chairman, and Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary, stated: “We write to inform you of the postponement of the State, Local Government and Ward Congresses for Adamawa State. A new date will be communicated to you in due course.”
The notice, which receipt was acknowledged by INEC on February 17, 2026, has gone viral on social media.
